Significant number of critical nursing staff are bigoted, intolerant and incompetent. My wife had major surgery and was treated like a side show freak with senior staff making derisory jokes and spreading gossip. An utter disgrace to the profession. Nursing staff also misplaced or held onto prescriptions and x rays. Requests for pain relief and cooling drinks to alleviate surgical discomfort ignored or forgotten.

There is something seriously wrong with the health care system here.

I have never ever had such a lack of treatment from a PRIVATE hospital in my life. My husband has had cancer in the past & we have been regulars in hospital for months on end.

A friend who is dying, in extreme pain and undergoing palliative care had the misfortune to be a patient. Nurses told her to her face she was a drug addict .

I hope to never return (due to sickness) but If need be I will pick this place as my first choice.

There are NO facilities aside from a 'kiosk'??? to buy coffee from for family waiting for their relatives.

Toilet signs are grey and hard to see.

Received nothing but discriminatory "care" from both nurses and doctor, complete mistreatment and lack of compassion due to my psychiatric past.

I had presented myself to the Calvary ER with what turned out to be an acute virus that has left me with (migratory) polyarthritis, my suffering was completely disregarded and seen as "psychosis" because I've had mental health struggles previously. The nurses slapped me around, told me to shut up when vocalising the pain and completely disregarded how much I was suffering... I even had a nurse jam a swab up my nose to the point of bleeding. Not only that, my so-called "doctor" sat a friend down who was NOT my next-of-kin and told him incredibly invasive information.. including that I was at risk to myself and to others due to my past of self harm (my scars are multiple years old.... WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH A PHYSICAL CONDITION????) this is a BREACH OF PRIVACY. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting. Will never return again and will dissuade anyone who considers attending this so-called "hospital".

The staff would occasionally from time to time walk by and ask if I was doing ok.

Every other private hospital we have visited has had at least one small room separate to the main waiting room with tea & coffee you make yourself & even little bikkies (I can give or take those) where you sit and read a magazine and wait for those having procedures.

I'd even been privy to sit in the actual patient 'bedroom' paid for under private health insurance and wait.

Of all the years we've been paying out for private insurance and the treatment we have received in the past built me up for a huge fall.

Imagine my gobsmacked reaction upon arriving at the Calvary, only to wait in a patient waiting room, then be told I might as well go home as there were no facilities there & wait for a phone call to come back and collect.

I went in for a CT scan of my Abdomen, The Radiology lady was kind and amazing, really comforting to help settle my nerves for this procedure. Reception have a sense of humour which is nice, they were very kind and polite.
